Position: Sr. Project Manager (15+ Years of exp with 5+ years in Agile)
Duration:1 Year Plus
Location: Portland ME
Rate + Plus full travel expenses (Travel, Hotel, Food PD)
Remote Fridays

• Must be a very Senior candidate with experience managing projects with 40 plus people. Agile methodology experience. Insurance or Health Care Experience.
• Must have excellent communication skills and conflict resolution. Client facing skills.
• Must have prior experience working in a Team environment, not just an individual contributor.

Overall Purpose:

1. Conducts end to end project management activities and leads one or more delivery teams to successfully deliver complex projects which may span multiple regions, functions and or business units.  Initial assignment will be as Senior Project Manager to lead ICR Reporting Track Summary:
2. Ensures teams risk management occurs
3. Responsible for dependency management
4. Represents team's commitments but does not make them
5. Champions agile values, principles and practices
6. Does not assign tasks – enables self-organization
7. Removes impediments
8. Has at least 15 years' experience in managing large projects, at least 5 of which have in managing large projects using agile and iterative methodologies
9. Experience in managing large data projects like BI and data warehousing is a definite plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads delivery teams to deliver quality working tested software each iteration.
• Facilitates agile processes including Release Planning, Iteration Planning, Demonstrations and Retrospectives.
• Works to closely with the Engagement Manager, Program Manager and Implementation Owner to help team understand the vision and roadmap.
• Participates in team meetings to help groom and prioritize the backlog as well as prepare stories to the right level for the delivery team.
• Facilitate the iteration estimation process. Must be very conversant with planning poker.
• Responsible for ensuring risk, change and dependency management are effective. Tracks and reports on project schedule and cost and communicate with  Engagement Manager, Program Manager and Implementation Owner.
• Ensures timely decision making occurs at the appropriate level and that escalation is done as necessary.
• Mentors the team on agile values, principles and practices.
• Acts as liaison with various project teams extended teams as needed, providing communication and status regarding the progress of the project.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor Degree or related experience preferred
2. Experience: At least 15 years total experience with 5 plus years of agile related experience
3. PMP Certification preferred.
4. Must be able to pass IQA screening

Other Skills:
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
Strong facilitation and leadership skills
