Job Title: Sr. Java Developer (8 yrs exp required)

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Duration: 3-6 Months Contract

 

Software and Client/Server application development and Internet Applications using Java/J2EE, Object Oriented and Web based technologies.  Required 5 Years   

Developing applications using any or all Java/J2EE Technologies, Servlets, JSP with custom tags, Struts, Applets, EJB1.1/2.0, Java Beans, JDBC, JSTL. Required 5 Years   

Developing applications using any or all XML, JavaScript, XSLT, HTML, CSS Highly desired 5 Years   

Experience with different IDEs like Eclipse 3.0, JBuilder. Required 5 Years   

Developed server-side applications using any or all technologies like Servlet, JSP, JDBC, JNDI, JMS, JSTL, CORBA, UDDI, WSDL, SOAP, XML/XSL Required 5 Years   

Developed server-side applications using any or all technologies like XML Schemas and deployed applications onto application servers. Required 5 Years   

Database and Interfacing (Back-end Front-end connectivity) skills using DB2 (SQL). Required 4 Years   

Excellent understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Required 5 Years   

Hands-on experience in developing top-down and bottom-up JAX-WS WebServices and JAX-RS RESTFul WebServices. Required 3 Years   

Hands-on experience in working with .jar, .war and .ear files. Required 5 Years   

Enterprise level iOS development (where apps went into production) Desired

 

The Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team.

 

**This requirement is for 2 positions**

 

Programmers typically are involved in maintenance (including production support), enhancement and development work. Programmers have a range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the Application Team. The Programmer works with the Functional Architect and Technical Architecture Specialist on an as needed basis to ensure that design and code meets customer requirements.

 

8 plus years experience

4 year college degree or equivalent technical study with advanced study preferred.

 

All roles specified in PR3 plus the following:

Converts scientific, engineering, and other technical problem formulations to formats that can be processed by computer.

Resolves symbolic formulations, prepares flowcharts and block diagrams, and encodes resultant equations for processing by applying extensive knowledge of branch of science, engineering, or advanced mathematics, such as differential equations or numerical analysis, and understanding of capabilities and limitations of computer.

This is a professional level non-supervisory position which may require coordination of programming activities being conducted by the team

Confers with other business and technical personnel to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of computer processing.

Works with necessary personnel to determine if modifications are necessary with interested personnel to determine necessity for modifications or enhancements.

Leverages excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop new business process and programming solutions as directed by business and technical stakeholders.

May coordinate activities of computer programmers.

 

Position Description:  The position serves as a senior Java applications developer for Java solutions within the Bureau of Business Solutions & Services.  The candidate responsibilities will include gathering and refining technical requirements, interfacing with the User community, provide new development support, provide   maintenance and application support including troubleshooting and best practices. 

 

Specific Duties:

1.Follow the full Application Development Life Cycle for Java projects and initiatives. 

2.Provide development enhancements   and troubleshooting support for Java projects.

3.Understand and follow best practices of enterprise level Client/Server Java applications.

4.Perform data analysis on Java system database structures  for new development purposes.
