ColdFusion Developer
Gaithersburg, MD – F2F Required
6+ Months
Required skills:
· 6-8 years overall business experience
· 4-5 years of recent ColdFusion experience
· Previous experience designing, developing, and maintaining Internet site content and applications using Web development tools Macromedia's Dreamweaver and ColdFusion Studio MX
· Must be highly proficient with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
· Experience with ColdFusion server 8 and familiar with migration to version 9
· Experience working in a multi-server environment (MS Windows and Linux) using development, testing, staging and production servers. Experience using FTP, VPN, and terminal services clients
· Must be experienced with common web browsers, web standards and platform specific development issues
· Experience with MS SQL Server 2005 or higher and some experience with Oracle 10g
· Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science required
· HTML, XML, SOAP, CSS, JavaScript, ColdFusion MX, CFC, Dreamweaver MX, IIS, MS SQL Server 2005 (TSQL), Oracle 10g, Stored Procedure experience, Linux, Apache, Understanding of TCP/IP services (i.e. HTTP, FTP), SQL
· Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows server and workstation environments
· Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio
· Experience with Windows networking environment
Responsibilities:
· This position performs development, testing, maintenance and analysis of content and applications for our North American Division corporate external (Internet) websites.
· Will utilize HTML, ColdFusion, JavaScript, and other Web development technologies and tools in a Microsoft Windows server/IIS environment, as well as Apache on Linux.
· Coordinates maintenance and new development with the Marketing Applications Director and performs project analysis and gathering of requirements and assets for new projects.
· This position is responsible for regular maintenance and development, with version control, of corporate Internet website content: product and technology information, statistics, and relational database (MS SQL Server and Oracle 10g) updates and design.
· Works with Marketing Applications Director and Marketing team members and clients (internal employees) to determine project requirements, develop, document, and maintain Web content and related applications. Works with clients to help identify project scope, define requirements, and gather assets
· Perform maintenance and development for external (Internet) Web content and applications
· Coordinate with Web Development Director and internal department Web content owners and publishers effectively. Perform maintenance and development work to keep up-to-date information across Internet sites
· Interfaces with some external advising agencies
· Create and maintain documentation and version control for web site development, content, and project management processes
· Perform maintenance and development of internal (Intranet) Marketing department website content and applications
· Perform design, development, or maintenance for Web applications for corporate external sites and some internal sites
· Review and evaluate Web development tools, utilities, search engines, 3rd party applications and tools and identify and recommend improvements and enhancements to corporate existing development and production environments
· Keep current with Internet technology trends and flexible enough to implement them, replacing familiar technology
· Maintain a development and staging environment for application testing and prototyping prior to implementation
· Maintain project work plans and meet development time schedules
· Provides backup support for other Web developers in Marketing Organization
· Perform tasks necessary to complete performance objectives
· This position requires regular interaction with IT Operations personnel.
· Gathers and maintains Web usage statistics and generates regular, as well as customized reports, using Webtrends and some other analytics packages.
· Must be able to adapt to the use of additional applications that function on a Windows Server platform.
