Title : Web Developer with Perl
Boca Raton FL but is ok with the person sitting there, in Miamisburg OH (near Dayton), or at the Alpharetta GA (Atlanta)
Duration : Long Term
This application does public records searching. It's used by everyone from Law Enforcement to Banks to Insurance companies. So for example if a mortgage company is trying to do a title search on a property to get the history of who owned it or if an insurance company does a property search to find out the owner of property and the value to insure it, etc. That's the type of thing they do so this is a VERY data-centric environment. We're talking BIG Data. :)
They are looking for a web application developer. Perl is a MUST. The manager understands that most web developers have moved on to PHP or LAMP but he needs this person to be very strong in Perl because he's got members of his internal team who started this project with just front end web development skills (like javascript, HTML5 and CSS3) and had no Perl or little Perl and he said "I won't do that again. It turned out very poorly to think they could learn it on the project." So experience working on web applications is a must as well as the strong and RECENT Perl experience. JQuery and/or Bootstrap is helpful as far as JavaScript Library experience goes, but just think Perl Perl Perl. :)The project is funded through 2017 and he needs someone quickly so this person will be straight contract and will get extended every 6 months until the budget runs out.
Should have 5+ yrs of web app development experience and a Bachelor's in an IT/computer related field is required. This project involves moving the web app from one platform to a new platform. They have the following technologies in their env't (but remember the Perl development is the most important): Linux, JavaScript (JQuery or Bootstrap), XML, AJAX, HTML.
