Overview:
Provides technical, business, and administrative direction for personnel performing software development tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for progress in accordance with project schedules.
Provides daily supervision and direction to support staff.
Eight years of experience is desired.
Job Description:
The Production Support Analyst position is required for providing server hardware and operating system support services for establishing, upgrading, and maintaining the Oracle Solaris environment.
This position will be responsible for performing critical system administration duties to ensure operating system and system software is configured and maintained to provide the levels of system availability and integrity specified by the business requirements.
The Production Support Analyst is responsible for monitoring system security parameters and managing user accounts to ensure adherence to established policy.
Capacity planning and system performance and tuning is a key aspect of this position to ensure the service levels are consistently met.
Additionally, provides analysis, evaluation, and support of the environment operation which includes monitoring systems, resources, applications, and users to ensure maximum system availability. Experience implementing and supporting Hadoop is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience in similar work environment.
Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years of IT work experience focused on Oracle Solaris and Solaris Operations Manager virtualization engineering and administration in large production environments.
Hands-on knowledge of design, implementation, and management, and support of Oracle Solaris 10 and 11, ZFS, LDOM/Zones virtualization, Solaris Operations Manager, T5/T4 Server Hardware, and SAN connectivity using Fiber Channel.
Experience as a team member on project teams in a cross functional environment.
Candidate must have strong analytical skills, team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent written and verbal.
Ability to communicate effectively with management at all levels of the organization.
Solaris Quarterly Patching, Build new LDOMs/Zones, Coordinate new Solaris hardware installation and configuration
Support Unix on-call rotation. System upgrades, Respond to and remediate system alerts, Support Solaris based projects
