Cognos Developer (Frontend/Presentation Layer)
Technical skills
* 7+ years of hands on experience with /designing/development of Cognos applications.
* Must have experience in Cognos 10.2
* Ability to design & develop reports/dashboards using Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Cognos Workspace, & Cognos Workspace Advanced.
* Ability to build relational/DMR/OLAP metadata model using Framework Manager/Transformer.
* Effective metadata modeling during the design & build phases of the implementation.
* Tableau and integration with R server for modeling, build dashboard, and publish to Tableau server.
* Tableau Integration with Hadoop, Oracle DB, File Systems, HANA
* Analysis of design & build phases of the reports & model implementation.
* Having knowledge of using JavaScript reports is an advantage.
* Good understanding & knowledge of Database & Data warehouse concepts is a must.
* Able to write complex relational Oracle queries to help with data validation.
* Adheres to change management process to resolve application defects or to implement development enhancements and deployments.
Other Skills
* Ability to complete deliverables in a tightly timeframe with cost effective testing and release cycle
* Ability to effectively communicate with business partners, development team and technology service providers
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Good writing skills to prepare documents on data warehouse processes and procedures
* Analyzes, troubleshoots and tunes product performance and fixes deployment issues
* Strong analytical ability and aptitude to derive and translate report requirements from business concepts.
* Ability to understand and quickly learn business concepts, functions, processes
* Knowledge of relational databases, as well as skills in SQL query design and development.
* Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
* Proven creative problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to communicate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Logical, efficient, and proactive.
* Highly self-motivated and directed.
* Keen attention to detail.
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
