Job: Progress Developer

Location: Cleveland, OH

Duration: 15+ months

Interview: Skype

 

Job Description:

 

Position Responsibilities:

- The Senior Analyst/Developer will layout, document, develop and maintain applications to support Stores Point of Sale.

- Individual will work with external vendors to evaluate hardware and software need in stores. Will need to understand how these products can be integrated within the stores infrastructure.

- Prepare functional specifications for a given task. Develop and test applications. Work with business users to determine if application meets business requirements.

- Develop implementation plan to initiate applications in field.

- Ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise.

 

Experience Required:

5 - 7 yrs. Experience in programming (Progress Developer)

Fundamental understanding of relational databases and Linux operating system.

 

Preferred: Progress 4GL RDBMS, Java, JBOSS, Web development, Linux/Unix experience, shell scripting, SUN Solaris.

 

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent experience.

 

Additional Comments:

Good Oral and written communication skills.

Organized and able to prioritize tasks.

Ability to work with other groups to understand and develop applications critical to store operations.
