Job Title :Senior SOA Architect
Location : San Diego CA
Duration :6+ months.

Job Summary
o The position is responsible for the development and the maintenance of IT Integration architecture, integration standard models, SOA portfolio and governance.
o The position provides consultation for broad areas of integration architecture and technologies to projects efforts within various IT areas or external service providers.
o On-going publication of knowledge from the external industry trends and based practices is also a major role of this position.

This Position Reports to: Integration Architecture Manager

Qualifications

At least 3 year experience with web services, ESB, SOA, distributed applications and interoperability.
Must have strong expertise in design and implementation of SOA based integrations.
Provides technical leadership for developing and maintaining the banks B2B, B2C and A2A integration architecture while serving as a focal point for integration architecture issues.
Must have experience producing UML, design patterns and contextual/conceptual/physical architecture documentations. Must have experience with documenting business processes and integration models.
Clear understanding of Web services approach including Web service protocols such as SOAP and REST.
Delivering at least two SOA Enterprise-level Projects including at least one involving legacy systems.
Experience with one or more Enterprise Architecture Frameworks such as Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), Zachman or TOGAF Frameworks.
Familiarity with High-level languages such as BPEL and specifications such as WS-CDL and WS-Coordination, WS-Security, WS-Trust and etc.
Understanding of the Enterprise Service Bus approach, including IBM ESB (DataPower Preferred) and JBoss Enterprise SOA.
Experience with pub/sub messaging systems and network protocols.
Develops technical solutions and service delivery strategies to create scalable, stable services, ensuring that solutions meet with Union Banks business requirements.
Leads/participates in the development of short and long-term infrastructure strategies to drive innovation, decrease speed to market, improve quality, and lower cost
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to facilitate and work collaboratively on analysis and design.
Generates technical documentation of business and IT processes for potential architecture redesign
Develops and communicates plans to scale system, meet capacity needs, and mitigate risks
Enhances existing interfaces/services by analyzing and identifying areas for optimization
Investigates new technologies and techniques and researches ongoing industry developments
Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor

Expert/lead technical role.
• Defines and plans Integration architectures for enterprise systems.
• Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert.
• Works on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
• Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff. Provides consultation for broad areas of technology to project efforts within various IT areas/ or external service providers.
• Maintains knowledge of external industry trends and competitors.
• Contributes to the development and maintenance of IT enterprise integration architecture and standards.

30%
o Responsible for enterprise wide middleware systems architecture, and balances the need for access against security and performance requirements.
o Sets and defines IT integration architectural standards and practices.
o Ensures that infrastructure architecture and design are flexible and support the business needs.
o Facilitates consistent business analysis, integration patterns, application integration optimization, interface design, security and change management at the enterprise level.

o Defines integration architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, and applies accepted standards to technology projects.
o Participate and contribute in selecting/developing solutions that are aligned with the business needs and requirements.

o Contributes to the development and maintenance of IT enterprise service bus architecture, standards and practices.

10%
o Provides consultation for broad areas of technology to projects efforts within various IT areas or external service providers.
o Maintains knowledge of external industry trends and standards.

Additional Information:
o Work Experience Typically has 3 to 5 years of experience with large and complex system integration architecture. Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing Service Oriented Architecture.
