Role: Senior Programmer/Developer - Informatica ETL Lead
Work Location: Los Angeles, CA

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 
• Good understanding of Netezza architecture and its physical implementation. 2-3 years of Netezza experience is desirable.
• Strong ETL design and development experience 
•  Good data profiling and data analysis skills.
•  Should have good knowledge on Unix shell commands and basic knowledge on scripting (shell and perl)
• Should have good knowledge on ETL performance tuning
• Design and develop internal business systems/applications, systems interface, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems, as required, to deliver 
new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.
• Responsible for software testing, database design, architecting, project management, source control, documentation and user training in support of the development team.
• Utilize troubleshooting and advanced problem solving skills to provide advanced support to systems developed by others.
• Design and develop Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes using standard ETL tools to streamline and automate the collection of data from source systems
• Perform Relational and Dimensional Data Modeling, preferably using Erwin/ER Studio.
• Facilitate changes into production through IT via established change management processes, SOX and CPNI.  
• Participate in large-scale Client initiatives and projects to design new BI solutions. 
• Train and assist in the development of new employees.
• Work through the entire Software Development Life Cycle with little supervision.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for business processes that are supported by assigned systems/reports.
• Facilitate changes into production through IT via established change management processes, SOX and CPNI. 
• Heavy hands-on Experience (min 4-5 years) performing Relational and Dimensional Data Modeling using ERWin, ERStudio and other data modeling tools.
• Extensive understanding of Logical and physical data modeling, data dictionaries, metadata.
• Experience in writing complex SQL queries in Netezza or similar RDBMS environment and good knowledge in large scale EDW/BI
• Provides data modeling and other data-related consulting services to less experienced associates
• 2-3 years of Informatica ETL design and development experience using PowerCenter 8x or 9x.
• Good data profiling and data analysis skills.
• Should have good knowledge on Unix shell commands and basic knowledge on scripting (shell and Perl)
• Telecom experience a plus
• Heavy hands on experience in designing
