Position: Business Intelligence Analyst (Developer)
Location: MA-Boston
Duration: 6++ months(That's current contract but should be 12++ months
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will be responsible for the design and development of BI solutions for our enterprise clients primarily utilizing the Microsoft BI suite of tools.
Responsibilities:
· Work with clients to understand business decisions and resulting outcomes, defining requirements for data integration, reporting and analysis
· Work with Data Architect and Data Engineer to ensure business value is achieved
· Create tabular models and multidimensional cubes using Analysis Services (SSAS)
· Develop reports using Reporting Services (SSRS)
· Develop reporting solutions using PowerPivot and Power View*** = key
· Manage BI Reporting Portals in SharePoint
· Test solutions and resolve issues
· Training and coaching of business users
· Evangelizing self-service BI implementation in enterprise organizations
Our Must Have List
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, report creation and visualization
· Must have experience developing complex reporting solutions in Excel
· Must have proven experience working directly with business users
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired, but Not Required
· BS in Engineering, IT, Mathematics, Economics, or related field preferred
· Experience in the following areas is desired but not required:
o Experience with self-service BI tools (PowerPivot, Power View, tableau, Qlikview, etc.)
o Knowledge of data warehouse concepts including: data modeling, data quality, ETL and data mining
o Microsoft SQL Server BI tools: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
o SQL and Stored Procedures
· Consulting experience
· Experience with leading BI tools such as Oracle, IBM, Informatica, Microstrategy, and BusinessObjects
· Experience with Microsoft Excel 2013, Microsoft SQL Server 2012, SharePoint 2013
