Position: Performance Analysis Engineer

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Duration: Contract

Details: We need an individual, preferably local, that is experienced with Splunk and has some sort of infrastructure background. 
Red Hat Linux would be the ideal candidate. 
Any experience with DCRUM or dynaTrace would be a bonus. 

The Performance Analysis Engineer will help develop enterprise technology configuration standards and adapt 
enterprise solutions to specific business related requirements.
 
The candidate will participate in the implementation of monitoring tools like Splunk, dynaTrace, 
DCRUM to support enterprise applications. 
The candidate will drive Performance monitoring tools related technology lifecycles.
 
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining Enterprise Application Monitoring infrastructure in the 
Non production  /production and making all required changes, 
tracking and allocating available resources enterprise wide, tracking reserved and used resources enterprise wide 
and opening service requests with AA's MSPs for deployment into managed production environments.
 
Job Requirements:
 
Minimum of 5+ years' experience with Enterprise Application performance elated technologies.
Expert knowledge of Monitoring Technologies tools (VMWare vCenter Operation manager, Dynatrace, DCRUM, Splunk and Microsoft SCOM etc).
Minimum 3+ years' experience on Dynatrace products and Splunk Logging solution.
Prefer experience with VMware vCOP's & Microsoft SCOM.
Prefer experience with UNIX & Windows OS. This also includes knowledge about multiprotocol file shares using LDAP authentication.
Working knowledge of performance trouble shooting and technologies from HP (HP SIM), Oracle (Oracle Enterprise Manager), Network (OPNET) etc..
Knowledge of Oracle & Microsoft DB products & their relation to application performance management solution.
Understanding of monitoring architecture, topologies and best practices.
Understanding of Application/Infrastructure monitoring best practices.
Familiarity with Security Principles and methods.
Good oral and written communications.
Ability to develop strategic technical documentation (standards documents, procedural documents).
Solutions focused with Enterprise perspective (reusable).
Self-starter and team player.
Understanding of server hardware platforms and related operating systems.
Taking a solution from conceptual design to a detailed design complete to the point of being implemented without augmentation.
Familiarity working within project management methodologies.
Familiar managing product/platform lifecycle.
Ability to objectively justify designs, demonstrate logic path.
Understanding concepts of N-Tier architectures.
Proactively recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
Proactively identify troublesome trends as they develop; analyze/predict trends and develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring; maintain high service levels for the user community.
Ensure a stable performance environment enterprise wide and review high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid them in the future.
Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the infrastructure, such as evaluation of new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more cost effective.
Continuously strive to improve client support: 
o Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
o Participate in IT initiatives to address service issues.
o Keep abreast of technical aspects of computing environments.
Thorough understanding of distributed systems architecture and exposure to multiple technical disciplines including: 
o UNIX, Linux and Windows.
o Volume Managers, Tape, Storage and SANs.
o Databases.
o High-Availability, Redundancy, Clustering, Disaster Recovery, Load Balancing.
o Hardware platforms and Networking.
Experience in evaluating and explaining complex problems or situations.
Project planning and management skills, including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action.
Comfortable with making project decisions, monitoring progress, and reporting results.
Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers.
Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems; strong customer service and communications skills.
Good judgment and analytical skills; strong follow-up and organizational skills.
