Location: New York, NY

Start Date: 05/01/2015

End Date: 04/30/2016

Rate: $80/hr all inclusive

Job Description:

Work Tasks:

• Develop highly dynamic single-page web applications to implement key software features

• Develop RESTful web services in Scala to provide data to web client applications

• Design and extend effective relational database schema and efficient SQL queries

• Research software errors, determine the cause of problems, and propose effective solutions

• Write complete and highly readable source code documentation

 

Required Skills and Interests:

• Bachelor's degree computer science, software engineering, or related field

• 1.5 or more years hands-on technical experience with software development

• Working knowledge of the Scala programming language and JVM libraries

• Mastery of one high level programming language: Scala, Python, Ruby, Clojure, or equvilian

t• Skill in developing single-page web applications using Javascript (Coffeescript), jQuery, and Backbone

• HTML5 and CSS3 web design for web applications

• Experience implementing RESTful web services using JSON

• Relational database and query design (SQL)

• Ability to develop unit tests

• Excellent technical writing and communications skills
