Organized by SWA-DTU Chapter, it is an initiative to create social awareness among the people of the country. DTU (Delhi Technological University), formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering, has initiated SWA-DTU Chapter in coordination with a US based international organization, SWA (Student World Assembly).
'KARTAVYA' is an initiative taken with a sole cause to awaken in all of us a greater awareness of our social responsibility - which formed the bedrock of our past achievements and should form the foundation of our future accomplishment. It aims at discussing contemporary issues and challenges prevalent in the society that are decisive and play a key role in making India the next superpower so that our vision of India 2020, does not remain a mere fantasy or a wishful thinking.
The main attraction of the event will be a National Conference having high profile speakers like Mr. Vikas Dureja (Project Manager, Airtel), Mr. R.K. Goel (AGM BHEL), Mr. A. K. Singh (Chairman, International Institute of Education and Research) and Ms. Harmala Gupta (Founder, Cansupport). The keynote speaker at the event will be Mr. Anshu Gupta, Founder Director of GOONJ. The event also comprises of a research paper presentation competition, wherein participants will be invited to present research papers on social security, corporate social responsibility and contemporary issues like women empowerment, corruption and more.
The event also has a NGO mela organized at DTU campus where more than 20 prominent NGO's of India will be participating.
This national event will have a media panel discussion with India's leading journalists from Aaj Tak, India TV and P7 news.
