Position-2)-Hardware Design Engineer in Oakland, CA for 6+Months Contract

Position-3)-Hardware Engineer Oakland, CA for 6+Months Contract

Industry: Laboratory Instrumentation / Clinical Diagnostics

Keys Skills: Microprocessor-based embedded system, Experience in digital and analog circuit design, Motion control Regulatory compliance (e.g. safety, emission, immunity) USB, RS-232, SPI, I2C, I2S, CAN, etc. Master of Science in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 6 years of experience designing microprocessor-based embedded system hardware

Mandatory Skills:

•         Master of Science in Electrical Engineering

•         Minimum of 6 years of experience designing microprocessor-based embedded system hardware

•         Experience designing electronics from a schematic level all the way to assembly and BOM level

•         Hands-on experience in digital and analog circuit design

•         Experience working with motion control (Stepper and DC motor) drive architectures

•         Experience designing battery powered handheld devices

•         Experience in regulatory compliance (e.g. safety, emission, immunity)

•         Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as USB, RS-232, SPI, I2C, I2S, CAN, etc.

Desired Skills:

•         Previous work in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment

•         CAD software skills: Mentor Graphics, Team Center

•         Ability to work independently and on project teams

•         Hands-on experience with RFID and other wireless technologies (RF, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Antenna deign)

•         Experience with microcontroller programming for board bring up, testing, driver development and IOT technologies.

Responsibilities:

•         Working on a project team to select components to implement the system requirements

•         Partnering with component vendors to qualify parts to meet the needs of the system architecture and manufacturing

•         Performing circuit design and schematic entry and overseeing board layout for system circuit boards

•         Owning documentation and revision control of assigned parts, including associated engineering documents

•         Generating and maintaining BOMs

•         Working with board houses to create production ready circuit boards

•         Supporting existing and future products and generating and implementing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

•         Working with Firmware Engineer on board bring-up and initial testing

•         Creating product prototypes and testbeds

•         Documenting electronic system requirements for new and existing products
