REQUIRED SKILLS:
SYBASE SKILLS:
-More than 10 years of experience working as senior database administration position.
-Strong Sybase database administration experience in ASE version 12.5,15.x and Sybase Replication server version 12.6 and 15.x.
-Strong experience in Sybase installation, configuration on Solaris and Linux platforms.
-Strong experience in Database performance tuning and troubleshooting both at server level and query level.
-Well versed with new Sybase 15.x optimizer changes, database internals, be able to apply this knowledge to trouble shoot real time production issues.
-Able to provide quality database operations support for Sybase databases.
-Provide deployment support for database objects in production and test environments.
-Provide 24/7 on call production support on rotation basis.
-Extremely comfortably in Unix shell scripting (k-shell, c-shell & perl) and should have prior experience in writing scripts.
-Experience in migrating Sybase databases from Solaris to Linux platform.
-Be able to independently plan and execute Sybase migration projects.
-Experience in Sybase Warm standby and MSA replication setup and support.
-Any experience in implementing Sybase password encryption will be good.
-Experience with standard database tools like Quest and Foglight/spotlight.
-Familiar with hardware technologies like VMware/VMHA, SRDF and SRM used for database HA/DR solutions.
-Good communication and presentation skills, be able to interact with multiple teams at various levels.
SQL PLATFORM SKILLS:
-Experience in supporting SQL Sever 2005/2008/2012 on Windows 2003/2008 platforms.
-Experience in Install/Upgrade/Configuration of SQL Servers for all supported versions.
-Experience on Database copy, Database deployment including SSIS package installations.
-Good understanding of Production support roles and responsibilities.
-Experience with Database Performance Tuning, Query Optimization and SQL server tuning at large environments.
-Exposed to implementing Disaster Recovery features like Database Mirroring, Log Shipping and SQL Replication for business critical applications.
-Good understanding of MS SQL security features and Windows AD platform.
