Job Title: Firmware engineer

Job Location: Redmond, WA         

Job Type: Long Term Contract

As an UEFI/BIOS firmware engineer you will be responsible for creating and maintaining UEFI firmware running on embedded consumer electronics. 

You will have responsibilities spanning all aspects of development, product bring-up and test:  write, debug, and integrate new UEFI drivers, protocols, and other firmware code across embedded product line.

Interacting with Hardware, OS, Test, Operations and various other cross-functional teams.  

Review board schematics and data sheets. 

Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment to troubleshoot hardware/software issues. 

Enable test strategies for new components in upcoming products. 

Support product development builds locally and remotely.

 

Qualifications:

BS, MS or PhD in EE required and/or 10-15 years of relevant experience.

Hands-on experience in design, development and launch of high-volume consumer electronic product is a must.

Strong knowledge of PC system architecture, Operating Systems principle.

Demonstrable programming skills in C.

Experience in the design, implementation, debugging of UEFI firmware

Troubleshoot defects in UEFI, ACPI and Windows OS drivers

Enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven.

Experience and understanding of firmware design and debug tools (IAR is a plus).  Understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures.

Experience with of standard protocols such as USB, I2C, MIPI, and/or wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or other).

Strong problem solving and debugging skills for multi-processor systems with I2C/SPI, USB and other interconnect bus.

Demonstrated ownership of multiple  sub-systems and/or a complete simple product (Simple = Mouse or iPod shuffle) and/or experience launching multiple moderately complex to complex consumer electronic products: Moderately Complex = Smart TV/DVD, Complex = smart phone/Xbox.

 

 

Job Title: Electrical engineer

Job Location: Redmond, WA

Job Description

Very versatile and experienced Electrical Engineer, with experience in most aspects of EE component and system design.

We are looking for an out-of-the-box thinker that is capable of solving a broad range of challenging technical problems.

The applicant should have in his portfolio FPGA design experience, analog (audio) design experience, familiarity with RF design including antenna matching, background in thermals including simulation and have done some electrical signal integrity (SI) design work.  The individual should be a team player, sometimes collaborating with and technically leading a group but often enjoy doing detailed engineering work on an individual contributor tasks. Working with new product design engineering to understand the constraints of technical problems and contribute to solving them.

 

Qualifications:

MS or PhD in EE required and/or 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Hands-on experience in design, development and launch of high-volume consumer electronic product is a must.

Experience in the design, deployment and support of Factory Automation Systems.

A working understanding of high volume manufacturing systems is a must.

Experience in consumer electronic products SMT, Assembly, Test, or Packaging operations.
