Position Functions or Responsibilities:
Senior Project Manager to assist in coordinating a number of software development operational and administrative day to day issues. This is a critical position in which the successful candidate must make an immediate contribution by leveraging deep experience with project, issue and relationship management.
Expertise Required:
a) Project Management in product development environment
b) Requirements definition and application solutioning
c) Process Re-Engineering
d) Application and Production Support Experience
e) Issue and Risk Management
f) Major Technical Conversion Project Experience
g) Educational Application Related Experience
h) Data Warehouse, CMS and Microsoft SharePoint Experience
Responsibilities:
While reporting to the Application Development Directors, the Senior Project Manager will assist with IT Software Development internal and administrative operations and will have the following Responsibilities:
· Manages the design, planning, development and implementation of new or enhancement information technology projects or programs from inception to implementation.
· Assembles, directs and oversees project teams, vendors, and other technology groups in an effort to identify appropriate project resources and objectives.
· Develops and monitors schedules to ensure that projects are completed within established deadlines.
· Directs and oversees the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) which encompasses the planning, organizing and managing of resources to bring about the successful completion of specific projects goals and objectives. This includes developing detailed project plans, establishing milestones and defining the resources required.
· Gathering business requirement and participate in design and implementation activities for these projects.
· Assembles, directs and oversees project teams, vendors, and other technology groups in an effort to identify appropriate project resources and objectives. Develops and monitors schedules to ensure that projects are completed within established deadlines.
· Manages the integration of project activities and information across project teams and advises monitors and oversees system analysis, design, configuration and deployment of solution components.
· Communicates with internal and external parties on project status, and prepares reports for management review.
· Performs project assessment, critical path, dependencies and impact analysis and presents escalated issues and recommendations to executive management.
· Identifies, categorizes, mitigates, resolves and/or reports project issues. Meets regularly with other related areas to ensure that integration issues are identified and resolved. Tracks and maintains detailed issues and risks lists, and prepares appropriate project meeting minutes and status reports.
Required:
· 10+ Years of IT Project Management experience
· 10+ Years of experience with Microsoft Project
Education:
B.S. Degree
Nice to have:
Knowledge of COBIT or ITIL is desirable
