Position: Data Modeler
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 6 Months
Perform Data Modeling activity to support the client's Data base applications and ensuring the highest software standards.
Skills/Experience:
· 6+ years in IT with 3+ years in depth experience in relational design (E-R)/star
schema/dimensional modeling
· Must have 2-3 years of hands on experience on ERWin
· Experience with modeling the overall data architecture, e.g., Data Integration/ETL process,
· ODS, EDW, Data Marts and OLAP cube design
Responsibilities:
· Prepare process models in accordance with the guidelines/conventions of designated process modeling methodology, includes creation and maintenance of process descriptions and glossary of terms.
· Facilitate the exposure of process data from functional experts and the user community
· Provide mapping between existing processes and proposed replacement processes.
· Design and normalize the logical data model
· Develop and maintain the physical data model
· Facilitate the discovery of entities, attributes, relationships, and business rules from the functional experts and the user community.
· Prepare fully refined data models in accordance with the guidelines/conventions of Integration DEFinition (IDEF) or equivalent methodology.
· Develop and manage data models and associated metadata for the enterprise.
· Maintain and publish project business rules and the associated enterprise data dictionary
Requirements:
Must:
· Solid understanding of BIDW concepts
· Worked in onsite – offshore model.
· Deep knowledge of the Data modeling concepts & tool
· Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices
· Strong experience designing and working with multi architectures
· Ability to design and work with either Oracle or SQL Server database
· Good to have experience with any ETL tool or similar technologies
· Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment
· Should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
· Passionate about building high-quality systems
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong analytical skills able to identify alternatives, presenting options, and making recommendations to meet the projects goals
· Good Problem solving abilities
