Senior DBA
Location : Cincinnati or McLena
Description
-Senior DBA with 15 or more years of experience in database design, modeling, administration, maintenance and documentation of multiple RDBMS technologies such as Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server and UDB DB2.
-Knowledge of OS architecture, interoperability between groups, users and security, Kernel parameters, disk management, etc. between multiple operating systems including Linux, UNIX and Windows.
-Proficiency in O/S scripting such as korn shell, bash shell, etc. including variables, strings, subroutines, pipes, batch, menus and automation.
-Knowledge of advanced SQL such as PL/SQL, TSQL, Bind Variables, procedures, triggers, sequences, functions, sub-queries, etc.Strong knowledge in database interfacing technologies such as JDBC, ODBC and RDBMS native clients.
-Knowledge of RDBMS administration such as SQL Tuning, resource management such as CPU limits, instance/database caging, cluster administration,advanced storage management for SANs, ASM, VERITAS, or other database storage management solutions
-Experience in database upgrades / cross-platform migrations and ability troubleshoot issues related to upgrades/migrations and provide solutions to the developers where needed.
-Application DBA experience with ability to troubleshoot code issues is required. Must have experience in supporting the development environments. Position requires working with various developers and testers, guide them and provide solutions where needed.
-Good knowledge in programming languages such as Java, VB, C, C++, Perl, etc…
-Knowledge of middleware technologies such as WebLogic, Webmethods and experience in database replication technologies such as Sybase Replication, DirectConnect, etc. is desirable.
-Should be able to document procedures, develop Standard Operating procedures, design and develop issue repository and generate metrics for management reporting.
-Must have experience in a lead or senior DBA role. Should be able to help and guide other DBAs in complex situations.
-Position requires strong communication and leadership skills.
