JAVA Programmer/Analyst
Austin, TX

Client will be doing the checks.
Position Functions or Responsibilities:
The Project includes replacing the system's Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) database structures with IBM's relational database structure (DB2), modifying the existing code to accommodate the new data structures, upgrading the development and testing tools so that the new system can be supported efficiently into the future, reducing the complexity of rates functionality and improving processing, and updating the staff user interface without a complete redesign (e.g., use tool to transform screens to accessible web pages and incorporate more intuitive menus and dropdown selection) to reduce training costs and improve customer service representative productivity.
Ø The JAVA Programmer/Analyst will be responsible for developing approved requirements.
Ø Will be required to conduct, or participate in, some stages of testing.
Ø May be required to develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 year's work experience with Java code enhancement
Minimum of 2 year's work experience with developing and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts
Minimum of 1 year work experience using automated and/or open systems test tools (such as Selenium/Open2 Test, Mantis, Open STA, Salome)
Desired Skills:
· Preference will be given to candidates who come from a Maintenance/Enhancement environment
· Preference will be given to any candidates who also have Natural/Construct experience
· Experience with testing projects in government
· Experience in Unemployment Insurance
· System Modernization / Transformation experience
· Team Player
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Strong interpersonal skills
