       Title:  QA Tester

       Duration:  6+ Months

  
Responsibilities:

The typical candidate should have experience testing Internet, intranet, and client-server applications. The experience should also include developing test plans and interpreting system requirements documents in order to perform effective end-user testing and determining adherence to scope. The candidate must have the ability to learn overall system processes and identify process-related issues. Should have experience with interpreting process flows and use cases, (Client currently uses Visio to diagram UML), Visio, Word, Excel and Power Point. The candidate must also have experience with writing detailed manual test scripts. The candidate must be familiar with exploratory testing concepts and testing methodologies. Candidate must have ISTQB - Foundation Level (CTFL) or above certification.

Additional Skills  (Skills that are a plus, but not required)   Knowledge of Rational Quality Manager or other test management tools such as HP Quality Center is a plus. Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) is preferred. The candidate must possess strong communication and analytical skills. Knowledge of identifying testing techniques for data driven applications is a plus.

Assignment   The tester would be responsible for executing exploratory testing on the new Feeder Sign On system for the Electric Operations department. The tester will be required to utilize various exploratory testing techniques to successfully test the application against business requirements. As part of a larger team, the tester will work closely with other team members which include: other testers, business users, developers, and business analysts as required. The tester would also be responsible for capturing and documenting defects into Rational Quality Manager. The candidate must be detail oriented, where he or she will be responsible for documenting manual test scripts for subsequent test cycles. The tester must communicate openly with the team to discuss testing ideas with other team members.
