Job Description:

SAN Storage Administrator - the main responsibility of the role is to perform day to day operational support of the SAN environment. This will include problem diagnostics/resolution, and continuity of business functions as it relates to the SAN environment. In addition, the person will perform as subject matter expert role for SAN products from an operational perspective. Furthermore, the role will include performing compliance related functions in the form of log reviews, compliance with team/audit policies, and quarterly compliance reviews. From a day to day relationships perspective, the person will have to interact with team members both locally and remotely, work with vendors for problem resolution, with Systems Administrators for storage problem diagnosing, and with peer Distributed Storage teams on issues and new hardware deployments.

- 5+ years experience working in the EMC Symmetrix environment.
- Experience with EMC SRDF and TimeFinder
- Experience working in Open Systems.
- Experience working with McData SAN Switches.
- Experience with Hitachi Tagma Storage
- Good documentation skills required.
- Very good interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Very good problem solving skills required
- Experience with CLariion / VNX is a plus
- Experience with EMC VMAX and FAST- VP
- On-call support is required
- Thorough knowledge of operational processes to be followed
- Thorough knowledge of Emc VMAX storage frames with features such as thin provisioning, planning of FAs for operating systems and connectivity at storage side
- Knowledge of solution enabler for configuration of pools, device configurations for size and parameters, and allocations
- Sound knowledge of storage performance analysis and to plan the allocations optimally and provision for scalability.
- Versed with CISCO MDS configurations, Core-edge technologies, VSAN configurations and FCIP configurations and networking for setting up replication
- Knowledge of security configurations to make sure the frame is configured in accordance with security policies and CATE standards.
- Knowledge on Fabric Manager configurations, alert configurations, ECC alert configurations, and ESRS configurations is required.
