Job Title: Senior Cloud Architect

Location: Seattle, WA

Duration: Long Term

Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing technical guidance regarding performance, scalability, security, design, and implementation of our cloud services. The architect will be responsible for driving requirements for integrating several cloud capabilities (Windows Azure, SQL Azure, AppFabric, etc.) and scenarios supporting the service such as service availability, quality, outage management, subscription management, correlation of usage and charges, and cost efficient solution architecture.

Technical Skills:

Technical skills are required in the following three areas: Windows System Administration/Virtualization, Networking, Relational Database Design/Administration.

· Windows System Administration/Virtualization

o Familiarity with Active Directory, Security, OS Internals concepts

o Understanding of Virtualization concepts and virtual system administration

o Familiarity with system management tools such as SCOM

o Experience with Hyper-V configuration and administration

· Networking

o Familiarity with networking concepts including VIPs, NAT, DNS

o Familiarity with networking tools (ping, tracert, tracemon, wire shark, etc.)

o Understanding of load balancing, geo-redundancy, CDN and VPN technologies preferred

o Understanding of the OSI model and related concepts

· Relational Database Design/Administration

o Familiarity with relational and document based database design methodologies

o Familiarity with BI data modeling and cube design concepts

o SQL database administration

o Understanding of SQL Tracing, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

o Familiarity with ADO.NET preferred

Experience:

· 5+ year's design and/or implementation and/or support of highly distributed applications (i.e. having an architectural sense for ensuring availability, reliability, etc.)

· 2+ years' experience in "migrating" on premise workloads to the public cloud / hybrid cloud

· Deep experience in AGILE development, SCRUM and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) with programming experience in one or more of the following areas:

o .NET

o C++

o Java

· Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure components:

· Software design or development

· Systems Operations / Management

· Database architecture

· Virtualization

· IP Networking

· Storage

· IT Security

· Technical prowess and passion—especially for Windows Azure, modern Application design practices and principles.
