BI Consultant-Analytics Services-Retail
Location - Bay Area, CA
Role
Work with clients to understand their business problems and help articulate the problem within a
analytics framework
Work with Ugam's onsite and offshore team - based in India, to structure solutions based on
analytics tools and techniques
Develop code, Statistical models, dashboards and ppts as per client requirements
Present the results of the work to client stake holders and give insights and recommendations that
have tangible business impacts
Build relationships with clients to better understand their business, and to enable them to better
understand how to use analytics to drive their business
Successfully leverage ideas across clients to spot opportunities and generate new sales leads.

EXPERIENCE
Overall experience in Analytics Consulting and Professional Services for about 6-10 years
Onsite Analytics Consulting experience of 2-3 years
Atleast 2+ years of exposure to Retail and/or Consumer Brands
Atleast 4+ years on hands on experience on modeling and deploying analytics solutions with clients
COMPETENCIES & CAPABILITIES
Ability to apply first principles and structured approaches to problem solving as opposed to relying
excessively on past domain expertise alone
A strong appreciation for Math, Retail Business and Technology
Hands on in statistical packages like SAS and R
Hands on experience on dash boarding tools like Tableau, Spotfire
Good in PPT and Excel
Ability to write Code /SQL to extract data from clients databases
A strong quantitative mindset: You don't have to be a Statistics major, but you do have to know how to
work with numbers.
A curious mindset We want someone who asks questions, who asks why something is the way it is.
Strong ability to Influence
Ability to make sense of ambiguity: To lead your team thru fuzzy problems and keep the spirits high in the
process
QUALIFICATION
BE/B.Tech , Masters / Bachelors in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research
MBA from IIMs and other tier 1 institutes in US (Preferred )
Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, preferably Mathematics/Statistics or similar (Nice to have)
Valid Work Permit in the US
TRAVEL
Local and In-country travel will be required on need basis
Short-term international travel – (India :2-4 weeks) may be required 1-2 a year
UNIQUE CIRCUMSTANCES
Flexibility to work in client specific time zones or India Time to ensure appropriate work gets done
Should be willing to take short / long term transfers across different geographies and/or roles
