Position: Lead Configuration and Release Engineer
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Herndon, VA
The Lead, Configuration and Release Management will ensure that all assigned deployments are executed in an a timely and efficient manner. He/ she will focus on efficiency while integrating 3rd party vendor systems into
hCentive solutions. The Lead, Configuration and Release Management will interface with clients to obtain requirements and ensure tasks are completed to their satisfaction.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Lead Release and configuration management while ensuring continuous improvement of the release process
· Serve and point of contact with 3rd party vendors (Carriers, RIDP vendor, Print Vendor, Bank, Lockbox and Payment Processors) and setup the infrastructure based on the integration needs
· Ensure company infrastructure operations and optimal levels and identify ways to to increase performance
· Create and maintain Infrastructure related documentation and configurations
· Lead deployments of JAVA based application using Jenkins
· Lead troubleshooting efforts related to environmental and configurations issues
· Administer Jboss fuse and Jboss application servers
· Lead automation of build and deployments using Jenkins, maven, shell scripting
· Manage large number of servers, production deployment, servers integration
· Lead basic operations of AWS and cloud based infrastructure
· Participates as needed in special department projects
· Other duties as assigned
Required Education/Experience
· Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field or commensurate experience
· 6-8 years of experience in Configuration and Release Management
· Ability to document processes, system design and network topologies
· Strong knowledge of configuration/release management, environment management, Java based application deployments, AWS tools.
· Knowledge of continuous integration tools - Jenkins, Chef and bash scripting
· Exp. with one or more of the following skills: Monitoring Tools: Nagios, Cacti, Mrtg, Munin. Rtg, Argus
· Exp. with one or more of the following skills:. Backup tools: Bacula, Amanda, Rdiff, Rsnapshot,
· Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and bash scripting
· Knowledge of version control system - SVN, GIT
· Exp. with one or more of web servers: apache, lighttpd, webrick, boa
· Exp. with one or more of java middleware: Jboss, tomcat, jetty, jboss, mule
· Exp. with one or more of security tools: ethereal, tcpdump, ntop, snort, Nessus,
· Exp. with one of more database - Oracle, postgres, mongoDB
· Ability to multi-task and meet changing priorities in a fast paced environment
· Strong organization and time management skills
· Ability to speak and write English at proficient level
Preferred Education/ Experience
· Administration experience with cloud stacks like AWS, google cloud
