Responsibilities:
Client is looking for: "Most of the work this person will be doing is understanding the user requirements and testing the changes that are made to base tables to ensure the data is correctly flowing to the affected reports. If there is an issue, he/she needs to be able to diagnose the issue and help resolve the issue(s) with our data architect."
75% CUSTOMER SERVICE (30%) / REPORT DEVELOPMENT (45%)
Create quality ad-hoc and standard reports for Advance users using PL /SQL and Crystal Reports. Analyze and develop new reports to be used in data and statistical analysis and reporting. Participate in the creation
and design of executive style reports.
20% SOFTWARE AND REPORTS Q/A TESTING
Provide application and report/programming testing services for all programming projects. Perform testing from test plans and document errors and all fixes as appropriate. Test new versions of Advance for upgrades and participate in Advance upgrades (about 1x per year).
5% CONTINUED EDUCATION
Keep up to date on Development and Alumni Relations business process in order to support via Advance Application and programming and reports.

Required Experience:
Programming experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) - Oracle Procedural Language (PL/SQL).
Skills to develop report specifications from customer requirements and develop reports that represent the data.
Skills to analyze and synthesize statistical data and create detailed and complicated reports and their respective charts, graphs, and mapping.
Experience working with a culturally diverse workforce and constituency.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Organizational skills to determine workload priorities.
Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with peer institutions, software vendors, donors, customers, students, staff and/or university administrators.
Skills to articulate technical information to non-technical users orally and in writing.
Skills to understand, contribute to, and appropriately utilize evolving reporting database architecture.
Knowledge and understanding of data update procedures to analyze and evaluate system design specifications and prototypes, and recommend effective data maintenance and update mechanisms and
functions.
Skills in statistical and data analysis to sample and test existing databases, determine error rates, establish minimum quality standards, and summarize and effectively present information.
Skills to trace, isolate, debug, and solve problems affecting donor databases, and related systems such as for telemarketing. Ability to read and understand data models.
Skills to analyze information and situations to define the problem and/or objective, identify issues, and formulate logical conclusions.
Knowledge of client/server applications and relational databases.
Experience with the ellucian Advance Web donor and alumni database or equivalent.
Working knowledge of PC workstation hardware.
Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases Experience in Crystal Reports.
Experience in the principles of customer service and support in technology-related areas.
