Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE:
This position coordinates, plans, and implements overall digital user experience strategy in support of the corporate web strategy. Serving as a hybrid design and technical resource for the company’s web efforts, this position supports the design, development and implementation of web, mobile and social tools to create best possible end-user experience through use of best practices in information architecture, web usability and User Interface (UI) design standards. This position serves a visionary role in identification and development of interactive components to deliver best-in-class integrated user experiences, and serves as a key player in company efforts in web usability testing and research.
This role collaborates with team to translate user and business requirements into wireframes and creative design mockups and converts creative mockups into clean HTML/CSS code.
This position will work with multiple departments to design, develop and configure websites, landing pages, microsites, and digital advertising assets (including mobile and social media components), taking creative design to HTML.
• Develop web user interfaces and digital assets
• Work closely and collaboratively with lead UI/UX designer, backend IT developers and a cross functional team to generate and deliver UI specifications for new features
• Take features from concept to release through all phases of development
• Collaborate with QA to ensure quality of deliverables
• Strong adherence to user-centered design principles and web accessibility standards
• Initiatives focus in UI and UX development incorporating SEO initiatives utilizing the latest technologies and industry standards for consumer-centric web solutions.
This position works with team to understand requirements and translate business goals into features. Goes beyond what was specified in a wireframe to enhance and/or modify the designs to perfect the UX and UI. Involved in the execution of the work through implementation to ensure the UX vision is carried through. Collaborates on the creation of wireframes, owns the creation of visual design assets and assists in converting to code. Assists in designing visual assets for digital marketing campaign including social media, landing pages, responsive assets and web banner advertisements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, ISDS, Web Design, Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction or equivalent required. Four years of relevant experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of four years of experience with relevant internet technologies and with implementing, administering, and supporting consumer-facing websites. This includes web UI design and implementation/front-end development experience for business application and consumer website user interfaces. Must be able to assist in designing and developing templates and workflows for web content and navigation and have a strong understanding of usability and industry best practices. Must have in-depth knowledge of current online technologies and the principles of web design, development and information exchange.
Must have a solid understanding of User-Centered Design (UCD) principles, web standards and best practices and HTML,CSS, and AJAX
Must be able to write clean, clear code and have experience in:
• Web-oriented technology such as CSS/CSS3, HTML/HTML5, jQuery, Responsive Web Design
• Design and page building software including Adobe Photoshop/ Fireworks, Dreamweaver
• Experience developing with WordPress or Sitecore a plus but not required
• Experience with InDesign and Illustrator a plus but not required
Must have experience in professional web design. Requires a keen eye for interface design and a creative, graphic, design mentality and solid understanding of user-centered design processes and Web 2.0/3.0 development principles.
