Ruby on Rails Developer

Location: NYC

6 months+ extension

Contract position  

Phone and inperson is required.

 

Leveraging a thorough knowledge of Ruby, Rails, HTML/CSS, MVC frameworks, OOP techniques, and knowledge of JavaScript/DOM and JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Prototype/Scriptaculous, Dojo, Ext, etc.),candidate will work in a collaborative environment to develop Rich Internet Applications with a strong focus on user interface development and user experience.

 

Required Skills

• Strong command of essential web technologies: Ruby on Rails, XHTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery/Prototype), AJAX, JSON, DOM Scripting, unobtrusive JavaScript, XML/XSLT, W3C DOM methods and properties, Adobe Photoshop and other graphic editing tools
• Thorough understanding of table-less page layout and positioning, browser behavior and compatibility, cross-browser issues and solutions
• Exposure to scrum (or another agile methodology)
• Exposure to SASS
• Exposure to source code management tools like CVS, SVN
• Exposure to Adobe Flex and ActionScript
• Exposure to J2EE frameworks like Spring.
• Exposure to gems like Nokogiri, RSpec, and HAML
