Job title: Selenium/Cucumber Tester
Location: new jersey
Duration: 6+months
1. Test and Automation framework – Selenium (roadmap seems to have Selenium 4 by 2020)
Being able to expand deep here once the candidate engaged (not limited to Selenium but the core programming should be common ) -
i. Fundamentals of writing Test class then dive to deeper context
ii. Capabilities – web or mobile (checkpoint on how they approach the setup)
iii. Web and/or mobile tests (Android seem to have better pick-up line to get a mobile question started vs iOS
iv. Test data – how they produce or go by it while writing tests – mocks, etc.
2. Developer Tools
IDE: (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio Code, VS Enterprise) – as a developer or QA, these tools are 2nd nature being able to use it whether you're coding or just running a test.
Testing Tools: Postman, SoapUI, LoadUI (any of these are definitely mandatory as this became the latest trend being able to validate anything API testing )
3. Others:
CA Rally or JIRA – doesn't matter what experience you have but the Agile exposure is there using such tools
Zephyr
Jenkins, Travis CI (any experience with deployment)
Cucumber, Mocha, Specflow
Databases (Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DocDB etc.)– anyone should have at least a knowledge on how a code integrates with any database. One way or the other you'd have to know how to test a mock data whether it is coming from a fake object or actual DB call
