Position Description
CGI has an immediate need for a Software Engineer III to join our financial services team in Reston, VA.
Description
The selected candidate will create a set of reliable, highly scalable, large scale micro systems that use cutting edge technologies.
Responsibilities of the role include:
• Java development within AWS and in a micro-services environment.
• Design and development in an Agile environment.
• Review current systems, suggesting updates as needed
• Gather requirements from internal and external stakeholders
• Test and debug new applications and updates
• Develop and utilize technical change documentation
• Strive to deploy all products and updates on time
• Help improve code quality by implementing recommended best practices
• Remain up to date on all current best practices, trends, and industry developments
Skillset:
• 3-5 years Java and Spring Experience
• 1-3 years AWS and DevOps experience
• Strong Java Development Skills,
• Extensive Spring Implementation experience.
• Knowledge of Containerization of Middleware Platforms, Docker and hands-on experience on Kubernetes based Cloud Platforms.
• Hands-on experience on infrastructure-as-code automation tools like Puppet and Ansible and extensive skills in Node JS, and Spring Boot.
• Knowledge and experience with CI/CD with knowledge of Git Hub, Maven and Jenkins.
• In addition to above, the role requires knowledge and experience with distributed data management (data caching / IMDG)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
