Req: QA Test Lead (10+/yrs) @ NY
The role is required to perform hands-on QA Test Lead activities to set up / configure testing related tools across the organisation, develop appropriate document artefacts to enable the Quality Assurance and Testing team to use the different tools, create a knowledge repository for these tools and provide the necessary training to the Quality Assurance and Testing team to use these tools.
The candidate will possess at least 7-10 years of hands-on testing experience across different test / project methodologies, testing types and tools. FX knowledge and experience is required. More importantly, the candidate will possess experience in the above said activities relating to the administration / management of testing tools. The candidate will be a self-directed individual committed to delivering tasks on time and to quality combined with willingness to embrace change and cultivate team spirit.
Main duties, responsibilities and deliverables:
1. Testing Tools Administration / Management
Ø Bring to the table expert advice for configuring the different testing tools chosen by the organisation.
Ø Set up / configure testing related tools chosen by the organisation across different test environments.
Ø Identify the documentation required to capture the details necessary to maintain the testing tools chosen by the organisation.
Ø Develop the appropriate document artefacts required to capture the details necessary to maintain the testing tools chosen by the organisation.
Ø Create a knowledge repository for the testing tools chosen by the organisation (within the Quality Assurance and Testing department SharePoint site).
Ø Provide the required training to the Quality Assurance and Testing team to use the testing tools chosen by the organisation.
Ø Identify and plan the sub-tasks required to achieve the above listed responsibilities.
Ø Provide regular progress reports to the Quality Assurance and Testing reporting line.
Ø Identify and escalate Risks / Issues / Dependencies to appropriate stakeholders as required.
Ø Liaise within the Quality Assurance and Testing department and other stakeholders as required to achieve the above listed responsibilities.
Ø Liaise with relevant stakeholders to address knowledge gaps and queries.
Ø Attend / arrange meetings, workshops (within the QA department and with other stakeholders) as required.
2. Following Processes
Ø Understand and adhere to the Test Process followed by the Quality Assurance and Testing department.
Ø Adhere to the communication strategy followed by the Quality Assurance and Testing department.
Ø Follow the reporting structure and format adapted by the Quality Assurance and Testing department.
Ø Identify process improvement items / areas and contribute to them.
Ø Identify and record best practices associated with the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies required for successful job performance:
Professional Experience
Established record of setting up / configuring testing tools ranging from industry recognised test management and automation tools to bespoke testing tools and utilities.
Proven experience of producing various document artefacts relating to setting up / configuring / managing testing tools.
Well-versed in providing training to teams on concepts / methods / other role specific topics.
Extensive overall software testing experience and specific testing experience in the 'Financial Services' business domain (preferably in FX, Payment - RTGS, SWIFT).
Experience of managing and / or working with teams across different locations and within an off-shored service model.
Experience in database interrogation using SQL, Linux and UNIX.
Familiarity of the CLS concept.

Good understanding of test processes and project processes.
Substantial level of work experience in the 'Financial Services' business domain.
Good team player with excellent team / people management skills.
Successfully working in a high pressure / changing environment to tight timescales and aggressive deadlines.
