Excellence:
§ Create test scenarios from functional requirements and/or User Stories using the Gherkin format
§ Execute manual test scenarios or "use cases" to determine the accuracy and usability of new products, product enhancements, or reports to meet the goals of the Agile Scrum team
§ Re-test defect fixes to ensure issues are resolved
§ Participate in all Agile Scrum ceremonies: backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives
§ Strong emphasis on Agile Scrum team collaboration; regularly evaluate team's and own process and product to identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement
Clients
§ Lead defect discussions and clearly articulate risks around different approaches under consideration to meet team goals
§ Carefully document and report testing outcomes; report issues promptly
Financial
§ Provide estimates during sizing and sprint planning to help determine the level of effort necessary to thoroughly test the product, enhancement, or report
§ Work towards continuous improvement in team velocity
People
§ Work closely with others in an Agile Scrum based team environment, including the Product Owner, Scrum Master, engineers, automation testers and business stakeholders
§ Assist peers with issue resolution and peer technical reviews when requested
§ Provide informal feedback on team performance
The Requirements
§ Bachelor's/College Degree in a technology related discipline, such as IT or Engineering preferred
§ Proficiency with MS Office
§ At least 6 years of solid experience working as a software tester, preferably with B2B web applications
§ In-depth understanding of Quality Engineering in Agile Scrum environments, including experience drafting user stories, using acceptance criteria to form test cases, story point sizing, and QA task creation best practices
§ Must be able to write effective test strategy for a project
§ Knowledge in writing effective tests based on requirements specifications and/or User Stories, using the Gherkin format a plus
§ Must be able to scope and estimate assigned task
§ Experience using different test case and defect management tools, including Quality Center, QAComplete, JIRA or others
§ Demonstrate a solid background in SQL or backend testing
§ Experience in writing automated test cases a plus.
§ Work within tight deadlines; balancing time across multiple, simultaneous projects that may involve different procedures and project team members
§ Collaboration with a global team, including taking accountability for quality and on-time delivery of own work and involving other team members when appropriate
§ Strong verbal and written communication skills
§ Foundational understanding of a client service focus (internal or external clients)
§ Structured problem solving and analytical thinking
§ Continuous improvement mindset – increasing task efficiency and effectiveness with each product delivery.
