Job Description

 

The Data Scientist/Java Analytic Developer will be in charge of or participate in the research, design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms. Duties also include improvements, adjustments and corrections to existing software. Additionally, these engineers are responsible for coding, testing, integrating and documenting software solutions. Additional duties include being able to:

 

• Implement imaginative thinking and ideation to enhance our client's business performance,

• Provide innovative, flexible, incorporated solutions to fulfill customer's dynamic business essentials,

• Support and involve in programs, projects and practices behind the company's philosophy and strategy, and conform to all policies and procedures, and

• Follow industry and department patterns and developments to guarantee company services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

   

  Key Requirements

   

• Candidates must exhibit a passion for innovation, a refined knowledge of software systems and applications, and the ability to efficiently manage, enhance, and evolve company software solutions. 

• At least 8 years of software development experience.

• At least 4 years of Java development experience.

• At least 4 years of experience working with MapReduce.

• A Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or the equivalent field and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 6 to 8 years of relevant experience.

• DoD Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance at time of hire.

• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must fulfill eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• U.S. citizenship.

 

Preferred requirements:

 

• Experience developing software for an analytics platform.

• Experience with implementing expert systems/artificial intelligence and data mining techniques.
