Description:

Configuration Management Specialist. Needs to have Non Stop Tandem Experience.

Key Technical Terms for this role:

Non Stop/Tandem platform

Application deployments

Unix/Linux shell scripting

Application monitoring and support

WebLogic/Apache experience

JBOSS Application Server

 

Role:

The role of the configuration management specialist is to perform the necessary functions to allow the flow of transactions from the sender to the receiver for each project or account using the BES system. The Transaction process flow gets routed through each program and or map necessary for that transaction and delivery of any outputs created to the desired location. The configuration modifications performed are promoted by the CM team through the BES environments from test to production and any support needed in processing flow is provided by the team. The promotions of the artifacts involve turning off applications, applying the changes, re-enabling the applications and validate that the transactions are flowing through correctly after the changes.

 

Responsibilities:

Analyze requirements for projects

Awareness, design, implement security requirements

Configure routing through the system for all transactions included in project

Coordinate and participate in walkthroughs

Create and or update necessary documentation for work performed

Review and understand the implementation documentation. Also, create the implementation plan for configuration changes.

Design, construct, implement, support solutions as necessary for projects such as DRA and technological upgrades

Estimate configuration management effort required for new business requests and  for current business change requests

Perform bi-monthly production release and support scheduled and off-cycle system maintenance

Perform on-call duties acting as CM SME

Perform SME duties working with other teams on the project as well as outside entities

Perform cross training for other CM team members and level 2 help desk on new configuration and processing

Promote changes through environments according to organization procedures

Testing of all transactions flows and functions installed

Third level support for production issues

Validate promotion of changes in QA, MO and PROD environments

Work closely with the client as they are implemented

Perform incident/problem management such as looking for alert resolutions and linking them to the alert and finding permanent resolution of repeating issues

Application health monitoring

Experience working in an Agile environment a plus
