Description: QA Engineer

Location: Raleigh, NC

Duration: 3-6 Months

POSITION SUMMARY

The QA Engineer will provide quality assurance expertise in testing SQL Databases, ASP.NET (C#), Javascript, Angular JS & SQL Server applications end to end. Setting up test cases, testing application changes, automating regression testing and retesting after corrections are made. The QA Engineer will interact with business SMEs, data analysts, application manager, .net developers, and business analysts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop testing strategies & test plans with traceability to business and functional requirements.

• Perform quality assurance testing and integrity checks on multiple software applications.

• Work with multiple development teams, platform teams and programs.

• Working with teams to automate regression test suites.

• Coordinate and prioritize testing of application modifications and bug fixes

• Perform both new functionality and regression tests and identify, analyze and report issues using the defect tracking tool. This includes Stress Testing and Throughput/Performance Testing.

• Participate in software requirement, specification and design reviews.

• Document and report results to stake holders.

• Validates defects reported from customers.

• Assess readiness of application based upon test results and application specifications.

• Develop test plans and test cases

• Reproduce user issues and demonstrate the steps to the developers

• Develop methods for ensuring a high level of software quality.

• Verify patches and bug fixes.

• Develop & execute automation testing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in the field

• 5-10 years related experience and/or training;

• Experience with automated tools such as QTP, nUnit framework and stress testing tools.

• Knowledge of testing methodologies and agile software development

• Web based application testing experience across different levels of testing (e.g., component, integration, functional, regression

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of advanced SQL queries to validate data stored in MS SQL Server databases

• In-depth Knowledge of Object Oriented programming in C#, JQuery & web services.

• Experience with testing .NET (C#) web-based applications that use Microsoft SQL Server and run on Microsoft Windows OS.

• A motivated self-starter with strong analytical skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

• Knowledge of relational databases

• Solid communication skills to gather testing requirements, clearly covey project readiness status, investigate and report issues and document test results

• Healthcare experience preferred

• Meticulous, detail oriented

• Ability to work independently without constant supervision required

• Strong sense of ownership and good follow through skills

• Agile development methodology testing, a plus
