Job Title: Middleware(ESB) Software Developer
Commentary:
The Middleware Software Developer is responsible for the design and development of mission-critical enterprise applications using ESB / Web services / SOA.
The Software Developer will contribute to the design and delivery of solution frameworks which are highly scalable, performant, secure and ready for global deployment.
He/She works closely with the Development Lead in delivering high quality code that meets the requirements within the agreed timescales. Integrated Services Platform (ISP) is a strategic program in Services Consumer IT space which defines Dell's CRM foot print to deliver solutions to customers.
This program has 3 primary objectives viz to enable future business growth and strategic direction, to drive significant operational savings to enable Support services Strategy.
This global application would be used both inside Dell and directly by customers and Dell partners around the world – In terms of the scale, this global application would be approximately used by 30,000 customer care technical support agents.
The Role
Design and development of mission-critical enterprise applications using ESB / Web services / SOA
Development of detailed estimates for the technical tasks
Develop the code as per the coding standards and naming conventions
Perform code migration during various phases
Perform code reviews and prepare technical documentation
Review of the test cases with the testing team and re-work on defects to closure
Define initiatives to improve quality and/or productivity such as implementing automated test tools or new development methodologies within the team.
Work closely with Development Leads, Architects, Business Partners, Development Managers, Systems Analysts, Senior Managers and other members of the wider team to plan and deliver the design and implementation of software components and subsystem / applications.
Ensure audit quality standards maintained across all technical areas.
Contribute to standards and processes to be followed during the software development lifecycle
Experience Required
3-5 years of application design and development experience in Java/J2EE technologies, with at least 2 years of experience as a senior developer in a demanding enterprise J2EE/SOA/Webservices environment
Extensive Object Oriented Design skills using Java, J2EE, UML
Experience in BEA Aqua Logic suite (mandatory)
Exposure to Enterprise Application Integration (middleware) technologies and techniques
Hands-on experience with and working knowledge of the following:
Designing for High Availability 24x7 data centre environments (mandatory)
General SOA architecture, ESB, BPM, BPEL etc (mandatory)
Strong knowledge of XML, XSLT XSD (mandatory)
Web Services Oracle SQL (mandatory)
Eclipse (desirable)
UML (desirable)
JUNIT and automated testing tools (desirable)
Experience in database modeling and design on Oracle
Proven experience of delivering quality solutions on a fast-moving business environment
Experience working with multi-cultural multi-national software development team
Availability and willingness to travel to other DELL locations worldwide
Qualification:
Bachelors of Engineering/Technology degree in Computer Science or equivalent
