POSITION: Quality Assurance Engineer
LOCATION: St. Louis, MO and Westminster, Colorado
DURATION: Contract to Hire
Only Local Consultant In-Person Required USC OR GC
JOB Description:
The main purpose of this position is to work with Business and IT departments to review and analyze requirements and develop test plans and test cases for applications across client test and production environments and execute regression tests to verify business and technical requirements have been satisfied.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work with appropriate project teams to review and provide feedback on requirements and application functionality to improve software quality and to create test plans and test cases. Ensure the test cases are properly defined in the QA test tool repository. Work with Automation Development team to determine overall test strategy (40%).
Act as primary QA Project Lead contact throughout the project life cycle: attend and participate in project review meetings as required, review project timelines to ensure milestones are met, identify and escalate project risks or delays to QA Management, log test defects as appropriate and assist team members with defect prioritization (40%).
Work with Project Managers and QA Management to track and report testing milestones. Notify QA Management of project related risks associated with testing impacts and delays and and help with risk identification techniques and project reporting. (10%).
Create daily and weekly QA Testing Summary reports to provide transparency for QA related activities (5%).
Participate in testing and documentation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity as needed (5%).
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Comprehensive knowledge of testing methodologies and application debugging from a technical and/or business perspective.
Intermediate level proficiency with HP Quality Center.
Strongly motivated with strong attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Ability to expand product knowledge and act as a project lead for small to large projects.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including requirements analysis and basic application architecture knowledge with an ability to logically document testing processes, accumulate testing results and publish reports. Intermediate level proficiency testing Web applications with multiple browsers.
Basic level proficiency with programming logic.
Knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases and the ability to execute SQL select statements to retrieve database information.
Basic knowledge of API's, .NET, Web Services, AS400 mainframes and knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Foster company success through a professional appearance, teamwork, being courteous to customers and all client associates and by displaying a positive attitude.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
3-5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience. Experience with defect tracking and test management software required.
Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases required.
Automation experience preferred.
