Advanced knowledge of the below technical competencies is required, along with a very solid understanding of an enterprise IT infrastructure operational environment.
Role Specific Responsibilities
· Thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure enterprise architecture
· Excellent oral and written communications ability. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
· Strong operational knowledge of Windows 2008/2012 and Linux in an enterprise environment.
· Develop, Demonstrate and maintain audit materials
· Accountable for execution of projects according to established standards, procedures, and processes
· Builds collaborative alliances with major external technology vendors and understands critical information about future-oriented technologies
· Requires excellent problem management and customer service skills.
· Contributing to process development and best practice. Looking at new ways to improve resilience, performance levels and supportability
· Ensures Priority 1 & High Priority incidents are addressed with urgency
· Contributing to a customer-focused environment that encourages information sharing, team-based resolution activity.
· Working knowledge of IBM's TSM backup environment a plus
· Preferred ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast pace and organizationally complex environment, to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology, and to lead and manage larger projects.
· Education: Bachelor's Degree
· Years of Experience: 7-10
Technical Skills
· 7+ years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse, server environment
· Subject matter knowledge in Storage technologies
· Strong operational knowledge of Windows 2008, Windows 2012 and VMware in an enterprise environment.
· VMware enterprise knowledge and skill set
· HyperV enterprise knowledge and skill set
· TSM knowledge a +
· Enterprise hardware knowledge (HP Platform preferred)
· Networking and cabling concept and experience.
· EPO experience a +
· Patching experience a +
· Knowledge of emerging IT technology solutions, industry trends, and progressive operations methodology
Other Qualifications
Professional Qualifications are preferred, including:
o MCITP - Desired
o VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Preferred
o Linux Qualifications - Desired
o Storage & Backup Administration - Preferred
