Responsibilities:
The trading and risk management system, used internally at our firm and by our clients, enables customers to manage over $5 trillion in financial assets. Our system is central to our technology strategy, unifying US by providing everyone with a common language and a central point of reference for our investment activities globally.
The trading and Application Engineering teams within the trading & Technology group use the latest technologies to design and develop applications that make up the firm’s investment management platform. The systems support the full lifecycle of the investment management process, from quantitative risk management to order entry, trade routing and settlement.

This position is for a Software Engineer on the team. A successful candidate is expected to create and deliver software, have responsibility to execute projects from start to finish, work independently or with a project team.
The key responsibilities are:
- Work with project manager, technical leads, business owners and analysts in all phases of the whole software development lifecycle, including: requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation.
- Work with other development teams to design and build reusable technologies
- Understand and support existing systems, including resolving operational issues while working with teams located across the globe
- Ability to execute and communicate solutions
Experience
- 3+ years hands on experience with Java
- 3+ years database experience (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling, JDBC)
- Experience with Hibernate and Spring
- Experience working with Swing and designing UI components
- Experience with object modeling and architecture
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to details and thoroughness
- Demonstrate ability to be a self-starter and learn quickly
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
