Job Description:
Lead Java developer role that is responsible for developing and maintaining high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be responsible for Java/Java EE application design and development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle. In addition, you will provide technical expertise regarding WSDL/SOAP and RESTful web service design and development along with overall Java technical oversight in support of the Service Assurance application suite.
Core Responsibilities:
- Works as part of a lean agile development team to deliver business solutions within the Service Assurance domain
- Interacts with Architects, Systems Analysts, and Business Owners to gather and analyze requirements, designs effective solutions, and assists with the development and implementation of the solutions
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance
- Provides technical support and guidance for current SOAP based and RESTful web services
- Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable, and
delivered on schedule - Monitors current and future trends, technology and information that
will positively affect organizational projects; applies and integrates
emerging technological trends to new and existing systems architecture
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of hands-one Software Development experience
- 5+ years of experience in Java development
- 5+ years of experience developing Web Service applications using WSDL/SOAP and REST
- Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
- Knowledge of XML/XSDs
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Experience with Apache Tomcat
- Understanding on how to scale applications depending on load
- Ability to navigate Unix operating systems
