USG direct client is looking PL/SQL Developer at Weehawken, NJ

Description

Major Responsibilities:-

· Analyze User Requirements and translate into database requirements

· Minimum 10-12 years of hard core PL/SQL development experience

· Technical Design & Development of Database modules and components such as database packages and procedures, MVs etc.

· Coding, Code Reviews & Unit Testing

· Reviewing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code

· Deliverable to be error free while meeting requirements

· Create Technical Documentation

· Supports infrastructure upgrades, technology upgrades and installations

· Works on periodic maintenance releases of applications, including enhancements and defects

· Innovative approach with focus on continuous improvement

· Effectively collaborate and interact with globally distributed teams

· Manage workload effectively to meet timelines with good quality

· Provide prompt and Proactive status updates on assigned activities

· Notify/raise issues to supervisor in a timely manner to resolve them earlier than later

· Must have a good understanding of SDLC Processes

Essential Experience and Skills

· Good understanding of RDBMS Concepts, Oracle PLSQL, SQL

· Must have at least 5 years' experience with Oracle PLSQL Development

· In-depth knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g+ Development

· In-depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL including tuning

· Familiarity with Oracle specific tools and utilities such as Quest TOAD, PLSQL Developer

· Experience with Unix/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting

· Good understanding of Data warehousing and ETL concepts is preferred

· Must be a good team player, self-motivated, possessing good inter-personal communication skills

· Good analytical and problem solving & documentation skills

· English language skills (both spoken and written) are required to effectively communicate with globally distributed team members

· Experience with software configuration management tools such as Clear Case

Desirable skills

· Previous working experience in a globally distributed team and large scale(minimum 25 TB) databases.

· Understanding of Corporate functions such as Risk and Finance is helpful but not required.

· Previous experience with technical documentation (eg. Technical design documents, release documentation etc.)

· Previous work experience in a data warehousing is nice to have.

· Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools such as Autosys

· Oracle OCP Certification
