As we expand our technologies, Undertone is looking for a Software Engineer - Big Data within a team building Undertone's data platforms for online ad-tech campaigns, utilizing cutting edge, open source big data technologies.
As member of the Undertone's UDMS Team, the Software Engineer - Big Data drives value by providing rapidly creating, innovative solutions to acquire and absorb data into AWS Redshift. This is a prominent position requiring interaction with business users, Data Architects, Systems Architects and Data Scientists.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test and maintain enterprise big data architecture, data warehousing, data modeling (Physical and logical), and business logic/semantic layers with emphasis on performance and scalability
• Gather and process raw data at scale (including writing scripts, data pipelines, calling APIs, acquiring and integrating third party data, write SQL queries, etc.)
• Support, debug & provide production support (level 3)
• Work closely with our engineering team to integrate your amazing innovations and algorithms into our production systems
• Process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis – and then do the analysis
• Support business decisions with ad hoc analysis as needed
• Profile and Experience:
• A minimum of 4 years of experience working with Java/C#/Python/Ruby/Scala Development
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
• Strong working knowledge of Databases (MySQL ,Oracle, Postgresql, Greenplum) and SQL required
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with Big Data and/or NoSQL solutions such as Hadoop, AWS EMR, MongoDB, Pig, Hive, Spark, or Cassandra required
• Experience with data model creation and use of Dimensional Models including Star and Snowflake schemas
• Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code components
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large data sets and an ability to transform data into actionable insights
• Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
• Effective oral and written communications skills
• Ability to estimate effort, assign tasks and measure progress of junior members of a technical team
• Passionate about computer science and algorithm
