JOB DESCRIPTION:
*Client is seeking a Senior System Analyst / VBA Developer to work with the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) team to support the financial reporting needs of the business. This position will be responsible for the design and development of the operational tools and financial reporting solutions for the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization that encompass scalability, availability, reliability, maintainability, etc.
*The ideal candidate will transform current reporting capabilities into automated processes using SQL, TSQL, VBA and other developer resources. The candidate will apply best practices in data design, object-oriented programming and systems implementation to ensure successful development and deployment of tools and applications.
*The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the financial close process and the ability to work directly with business users to gather and understand requirements necessary to evolve financial reporting processes.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Create standard tools to allow distribution of common MS Excel templates and systematic gathering of data to store in centralized enterprise systems such as Hyperion Planning and Essbase
• Support standardized analysis and reporting using data from enterprise system sources such as Hyperion Planning, Essbase, and HFM, in conjunction with Business Objects data warehouse data sources
• Leverage the experience in the business user community with MS Excel to maximize usage of the data being concentrated in enterprise tools
• Develop solutions which remain responsive to the changing demands of the business and deploy functionality quickly and incrementally
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Other Responsibilities include:
*Develop and maintain macros and scripts for Hyperion Essbase applications • Validate reports against transactional and dimensional data
*Responsible for review and optimization of SQL queries in reports • Responsible for understanding business processes to develop business models
*Write supporting functional specification and design ocuments • Provide prompt and complete resolution to technical challenges and business issues • Operate in time-sensitive environment with competing deadlines • Assist in the creation of annual improvement plans and development of multi-year roadmaps
*Provide direction and leadership on complex projects, including leading other analysts when necessary
Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Computer (IT/IS/Eng) related field, or Business and Finance with complementary technical experience • 5-8 years relevant work experience with 2+ years developing automated tools, models and reports • Advanced VBA experience required • Expert level PC skills within a Microsoft Office environment
*Requires strong Structured Query Language (SQL) development, Teradata and/or Oracle knowledge preferred • Understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Modeling and Data Quality fundamentals • Experience with SAP Business Objects preferred
*High aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving • Strong attention to detail coupled with ability to take a big picture and long term perspective on how solutions and trade-offs play into the overall strategy for data and reporting tools
*Highly organized, able to work with some direct supervision • Ability to multi-task occasional overlapping assignments while managing external factors to successfully meet deadlines
