Customer's comments: We're looking for someone to help with pathfinding and movement, it's not a full AI architecture task (not behaviors/decision-making). We already have a decision-making architecture in place that meets our needs, the intention is to have more support to clean up the existing pathfinding/movement systems.
Ideally this person will work onsite, but we are also open to having someone work remotely provided that they're willing to come in initially to get up to speed and occasionally as needed.
Job Description:
Talented Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer to join our team of MMO developers working on WildStar. We are looking for someone passionate about improving, testing, and documenting the systems that drive NPC movement. Join us in making the world of WildStar come to life!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with Design, Art, and other Programming team members while improving and extending game AI pathfinding & movement systems
· Develop and write clear, maintainable, portable code
· Write documentation for end users
REQUIREMENTS:
· Knowledge of AI pathfinding algorithms (e.g., A*) and related AI systems
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
· 5+ years programming experience using C++, preferably using MS VC++
· Familiarity with Standard Template Library (STL)
· Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
· Strong linear algebra and 3D math skills
· Strong communication skills
· Desire and ability to work in a team environment
· 2 shipped titles or equivalent experience
PLUSES:
· Familiarity with NavPower
· Previous MMO development experience or avid MMO gaming experience
· Familiarity with graphics engine programming
· Familiarity with client/server programming
· Familiarity with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC)
