Sr. Network Engineer - Brooklyn, NY – 6 Months Contract.
Interview Mode: Telephonic and In-Person
Position Objective:
The client is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to provide a consultative approach to one of our largest North East clients.
The ideal candidate will have Networking design level experience within financial services industry and strong understand of low latency trading environments.
This individual will primarily be working out of our Brooklyn, NY location and will also be building out our client's Data Center environments in Seacaucus NJ and other NYC Metro Data Centers. Your work will primarily be focused on Routing and Switching with Cisco and Arista as the two primary products in the landscape. Your knowledge of BGP and Multicast protocol will be utilized daily in this environment.
Job Function
• Design and implement network connectivity solutions based on business requirements.
• Interaction with both internal and external clients and vendors, managed service providers and telecom providers
• Apply and enforce the firm's routing and switching best practices across all connectivity solutions
• Familiar with change request process at large enterprises and/or Financials.
• Support network Moves/Adds/Changes to provision new services
• Provide Level-3 support for network related issues. Willing to provide support during maintenance windows and work flexible hours
• Ability to produce accurate technical documents to include network topology maps, implementation plans, migration plans, etc.
• Experience performing network data captures and analysis with tools such as Wireshark, etc.
• Lead and participate in group projects with global as well as regional team members.
