Job Description:

9- 10+ yeras exp:
• Design, develop and maintain databases in MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 2008, 2008R2 & 2012 Databases.
• Provide consultation on SQL Server Database issues to the development teams
• Configure, manage and administer the log shipping between production and DR servers
• Configure, manage and administer the database mirroring between production and DR servers
• Manage and administer Windows Cluster SQL server Instances on cluster nodes
• Work and Implement Linked Server concepts of MS SQL server for execution of Distributed transactions and remote stored procedures using heterogeneous data sources
• Work on BCP and Bulk Insert operations for data uploading module and Create DTS / SSIS packages as for data transfer & transform across locations and multiple data source as per requirement
• Tune stored procedures and distributed queries
• Create Login's, Users, and permissions and managed Security issues of the Server and Databases according to Security Policies defined by the company
• Manage and administer backups using built-in / 3rd party tools (SQL Litespeed)
• Performance tuning and monitoring using different built-in and 3rd party tools
• Effective Communication to be made through conference calls and emails with different teams
• Provide lessons learned and knowledge transfer to Offshore team
• Perform complex problem solving, determination and resolution of database related issues, understanding of multi-tiered application technology
• Create jobs to automate repetitive tasks
• Testing –unit testing & integration testing
• Responsible for overseeing the quality procedure related to the project
• Work closely with application development & Test teams when any issue in production environment and provide assistance in resolving and tracking issues with production applications
• Provide input to management team that help to streamline and improve consistency in service levels
• Ability to be highly self-directed when required and work closely within a team
• Work on 24x7 on-call pager rotation
• Manage the Service Request on shifts and solve the issues
• Involve in setting up Database standards
• Transaction logs management (filling up, adequacy, planning for growth)
• Troubleshooting connectivity issues
• Capacity Planning (estimate growth of Transactional Logs, Database Storage)
• Scheduled the tasks for automation
• Configure SQL / DB MAIL for sending server / database alerts
• Involve in migration / Upgrade project within different versions of SQL Servers.
