Job Title: Lead Android Developer

Location: Boston, MA & Chicago, IL

Duration : 3-6+ months

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education / experience

5+ years of development experience using Java / C++

3+ years of mobile application development experience, minimum of 2+ years focused on Android application development

Experience leading development projects or teams, ability to serve as a mentor to other team members

Strong experience with OO design and development

Android SDK experience

Experience working with data from outside APIs

Understanding of and ability to parse XML, JSON and serialized data

Understanding of multi-threaded interface dseign

Experience with embedded relational databases (SQLite)

Prior experience with fragment-based Android application architectures

Must have at least one or more functioning apps in the Android marketplace

Skills with any of the following are a plus:

Profiling, tuning and optimizing Java applications

Experience with multiple mobile platforms

Experience with third-party libraries and frameworks (such as those by SquareUp)

Rooting devices or building the platform from source

Knowledge of IntelliJ or AndroidStudio

Experience dealing with streaming media on Android

Experience building library projects for Android

Familiarity with JNI

Experience working with emerging Android devices (e.g. smart watches, Google Glass, etc.)

Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks

Familiarity with publicly-available open source software
