Role: Programmer/Developer Lead - Software Engineer (SDET)

Work Location:  Orlando, FL

$60/hr on C2C/1099 all inclusive

 

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will be part of an exclusive team developing websites for PC's and mobile devices; reporting to the technical manager.

The SDET will be responsible for testing all aspects of the functionality of our travel and resorts applications working in an Agile team environment.  Testing will be a combination of manual as well as automated tests using a variety of test automation tools and frameworks. We require a highly technical individual who will interact closely with developers; the individual should be familiar with the SDLC.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities       • Participate in Sprint Planning meetings and prepare test strategy for each cycle

• Create test plans and implement test automation where possible

• Ideate on fundamental test practices for application testing

• Execute test cases and report defects found in Jira

• Help organize and triage defects for developers

• Accurately report out test quality metrics to Manager and scrum

• Perform high level Security and user authentication testing for Credit Card payments

 

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance

• Strong knowledge of test automation tools and emulators

• Strong experience and Thought-Leader in Quality Assurance and testing pratices

• Strong knowledge of continuous integration and delivery systems

• Strong technical skills in using tools such as: XML; Jira; Selenium; JBehave; BDD; and WebDriver

• Expertise in Java development

• Ability to interact with developers and Technology managers at a technical level

• Must be able to work with a geographically dispersed team

• Strong written and verbal skills are required

               

Responsibilities

•             Validate and help define acceptance criteria in BDD/Gherkin.

•             Design, develop, and implement test-related code to create tools, unit tests, test scripts, test harnesses, and other infrastructure for validating Windows and/or mobile applications, libraries, drivers, and interfaces

•             Take ownership over test automation, including designing or customizing automation tools as needed

•             Develop feature code and support other engineering efforts when not working on test-based deliverables

•             Quickly translate technical requirements and product goals into appropriate code and automated tests

•             Design test plans and support testing tools and processes

•             Help manage continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Xcode Server, and VS Build Server to help manage test targets, create reports, and support other users of the tools

•             Participate in creating technical specifications and performing code reviews with other engineers

•             Participate in agile planning and scope estimation for team projects

•             Generate and maintain documentation as needed.

•             iOS Development or QE experience a must

 

 

Qualifications

•             5+ years of experience in iOS development or quality engineering and a strong command of object oriented principles across multiple languages (C, C++, and C# a must), other languages (like Java, Python and Ruby) a bonus

•             Experience with TDD and BDD

•             Significant experience with unit level testing, writing test plans, scripts and generating testable code

•             Experience with automation tools like  Instruments, Appium, Cucumber, Calabash etc.

•             Extensive experience using common SCM/RCS tools like SVN, GIT, Mercurial, etc.

•             Extensive experience working with common bug tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, Version One, Mantis, etc.

•             Experience managing testing via continuous integration software like Jenkins, Xcode Server, and VS Build Server

•             Experience working in an agile or lean software development environment

•             Deep hands-on technical expertise and problem-solving skills

•             Enjoys working in an evolving, collaborative and technically challenging environment with rapidly changing requirements

•             A scrappy, self-motivated, entrepreneurial attitude that gets high-quality projects done quickly
