Job Description :

Role : Hadoop Engineer

Location : Washington DC

Duration : 6-12 + month

GC and CITIZEN

Job Description :

5 or more years of IT experience
At least 1 full lifecycle project involving Hadoop and related technologies (HBase, Hive, Pig, Flume, Oozie, etc.). Needs to be enterprise production sized environment, not just a prototype or proof of concept.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience in installation and management of Hadoop based environments.
Experience installing, configuring and tuning Hadoop environments
Skilled in managing both Hive and Impala on Hadoop
Skilled in managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux Systems
Skilled in automated configuration management using Puppet
Excellent written and verbal communications

Preferred:

Experience developing solutions with NoSQL databases
Government clearance
Training and certification on Hadoop (preferably through Cloudera)
Experience with traditional batch-queued grid systems (SLURM, LSF, Sun Grid Engine)
Experience supporting Python, R, Matlab, SAS environments
