Ensures all production changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines. Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members and or acting as a subject matter expert. In depth Functional knowledge of the application(s) supported and interdependencies. This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) is a leading global financial services firm with assets of trillion and operations in more than 60 countries. The firm is a leader in investment banking, financial services for consumers, small business and commercial banking, financial transaction processing, asset management, and private equity. This position is for a Senior SAP Basis Administrator. The selected candidate will be hired into the Global Finance Technology (GFT) Group, an IT Group within the Corporate Technology Group, supporting the Global Finance Organization and Financial Systems of which the SAP ECC 6.0 System is used as the Domestic Ledger system and SAP BW 7.3 on Netweaver platform is used for reporting.
The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the management of the SAP environment. The SAP Basis Administrator responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system. The SAP Basis Administrator collaborates to resolve SAP transport and source code problems. The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems. Additional areas include the evaluation and design of interfaces between SAP and external systems, maintenance of the SAP Data Dictionary and database objects, and manage the migration of SAP database and application configuration into production as well as analyze, develop, and maintain data architectures and process models within SAP.
A key area of responsibility is the documentation and updating of the existing SAP environment and work with IT and business units to modernize the SAP environment.
Desired technologies: AIX 6.1, GPFS 3.4, Oracle 11.2 RAC, BWA, NW 7.0, BW 7.3, ECC 6.0, SolMan 7.31., HANA 1.0 SPS6 and above Responsibilities and duties:
1. Daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of all SAP ECC 6.0, BW 7.3, and Solution Manager environments.
2. Perform SAP software installation, upgrades, applying support packages, system copies/refreshes and installation add-on software components.
3. Responding to and resolving infrastructure related incidents & problems 4. Works with OS & DB Administrators for optimal SAP Performance 5. Provide Support and Guidance to the other Project and Development teams during the build, test and productive operation of project implementation.
6. Provides support for Disaster Recovery and DR test as required.
7. Provide all aspects of technical support for SAP Basis Administration in a proactive and reactive mode to ensure that the systems perform within the terms of their respective service level agreements.
8. Perform Early Watch analysis and apply recommendations.
9. Participate in multi-landscape design solutions, architecture recommendations, and strategies for continuous improvement.
10. Maintain multi-landscape environments through remote copies, system refreshes, and transport management monitoring.
11. Provide daily support SAP ECC and BW End-Users with system and reporting problems.
12. Perform Daily System Health Checks on all SAP systems and do general troubleshooting and diagnostics checks on technical aspects of the system.
13. Setup of User Printers within SAP, as well as support the installation of Front-end Gui's for end-users.
14. Configure and Maintain Transport System Landscapes and operate Change Management Tools 15. Perform Setup and Configuration of Solution Manager CCMS in order to monitor & administer the SAP systems.
16. Provide Production Support on a periodic 24x7 support with on-call responsibilities 17. Work with SAP via OSS & Solution Manager to technical resolve problems
Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or related business field: or equivalent experience.
• Working understanding of complex software and information technology solutions.
• 12-15+ years working with SAP administration with demonstrated experience related to support, maintenance and implementation projects.
• 8+ years experience with Unix platforms (AIX 6.1 preferred) and ORACLE (10g, 11g preferred)Demonstrated ability within administrative toolsets including Solution Manager • 6-12 Months HANA DB Experience.
• Able to work independently as well as cooperatively.
• Good working knowledge of Unix Scripting, ABAP and Java Development will be of value, but not essential • BWA experience not essential, but a plus • BPC 10.0 experience not essential, but a plus • Ability to mentor and develop technical resources.
